Peterborough is all set to go green with the Peterborough Environment City Trust holding events all over the city throughout the next few days. I’m lucky enough to be the compere for the huge Swishing Event on Tuesday and I’ll be interviewed at 1pm on local radio station Lite FM along with Nicole Saunders from ESP magazine who has organised an eco fashion show in Queensgate with creative designs from our local fashion students. Hubby and I decided to go into the city centre today to see what was happening and perhaps pick up some tips – I’m desperate for him to start growing vegetables in our back garden and thought this might give him the necessary push. The jury’s out, so watch this space.
Our magnificent cathedral was open to the public ( 2 of Henry VIII’s wives are buried there) and I was amazed at just how beautiful it is. I’ve been there many times and even sung there on occasion but the architectural details somehow passed me by. Often the case in your home town. It’s good to take time out to be a tourist and see the familiar from a different perspective because we then realise how much we take for granted.
The sun was out and it was a beautiful day so we sat outside having a coffee and watching the world go by, something I love to do. I’m all for being natural but is it just me that’s affronted by the naked male torso, complete with tattoos, being paraded in front of me at every turn? This is a city not a beach and I know I sound like some old prude but I do think the naked body is best left as something of a mystery. I know we are in an economic recession but surely everyone can afford some clothing as a cover up? As I often say to my personal style clients ” less is more”. Have a great bank holiday weekend.
