Another successful day with life changing consequences. Thank you to all participants for sharing and enabling everyone to develop their OWN Art of Style. See you on The Art of Style II, Feb 15th. X
Shame on you BBC. You seem to think that all women over 35 are past it, so it was gratifying to hear that one of them, Miriam O’Reilly, got what she deserved in terms of a major payout and a new contract. Why are you so against us? In the USA, much older women are held in great regard, despite HD television, so please take a leaf out of their book and do not write us off. We are in our prime – or hadn’t you heard???
SOOOO happy to see that the brilliant Mary Portas is back on TV doing what she does best – sorting out service in our retail stores. Let’s hope shop assistants and other sales staff now get to realise that it’s all about the customer experience, not just the products. I have to say that I would LOVE her job, especially as she goes undercover wearing wigs – brilliant fun. I’ve always fancied myself as a Mystery Shopper.
Starts Wed 19th 9pm on Channel 4. To see a clip go to

As you know, I am most definitely a high heels kind’a gal and I loathe flat shoes or anything that looks dated and frumpy in my footwear collection. However, when the weather conspires against you, action is needed unless you want to stay indoors all the time. So, imagine my delight when I came across these little beauties. These boots are the MOST comfortable footwear I have ever worn. So much so, I bought them in black and grey (shown). Laces are my bugbear, having a high instep, but these have a side zip so no problem at all getting them on and off my feet and the tread on the sole does a marvellous job of keeping me upright in the snow and ice. Functional, fashionable and funky – all words that belong in my Personal Style Statement. I have worn with jeans, jeggings and dresses ( fab with thick opque tights) and I LOVE them. The best part – the cost. £25 from Norwich market. How’s that for a bargain. The worst problem will be going back into my stilettos!!!
