My wonderful Australian colleague, Clare Maxfield, has always been brilliant working with words as well as with clothing. She has written articles for this newsletter and I only accept great material, as you know. She has authored many books but nothing like her latest offering – Lattes, Laughter and Lipstick. She kindly gave me a copy while at the conference and I couldn’t put it down. I had many long hours to kill on my trip home and they just flew past. The idea is so brilliant and the book so relevant, you just have to go out and buy a copy for yourself. If you are in a rut, unsure of your style, want to move focus away from certain parts of your body and don’t know how to accent the bits you do like, then pick up this book right now and get the wardrobe you’ve always dreamed of. It’s so much fun, you’ll be right in there with the 3 heroines, cheering them on while learning what you can do for yourself at the same time. Fabulous.
www.latteslaughterandlipstick.com if you want to purchase in Australian dollars or wait until it’s on amazon – which will be very soon.
Just returned from the most fabulous conference. So many inspirational consultants and ideas. Loved it. time to get on with my new ideas.
…so I won’t be bloggin for a few days. AICI conference, lots of well dressed image consultants so absolutely no pressure to look good!!
I have always struggled in the summer with shoes. Not because they are too high (though some might think that) but because I always get blisters once I start to walk. This has limited me severely in the past because I’ve had to revert to wearing boots and socks under jeans/trousers or swelter in tights. But no more. My heroine, Dame Viv, has once again come to the rescue. Her Melissa shoes are so funky they could have been made for me but here’s the rub (forgive the pun) they are made out of jelly plastic. Yes, like your kids had when they played in the sea. They also smell divine! I now have 3 pairs, all totally creative and instantly recognisable by her other fans (who come up to compare notes) and a subject of ‘conversation’ for those who are less aware. So Dame Vivienne Westwood, I remain your ardent fan. Thank you for giving me style and the ability to walk again, in the sunshine, once more.
